JPG to PNG tips
PNG is lossless — every pixel is preserved exactly. Great for screenshots, logos, and graphics with text or sharp edges.
PNG supports transparency (alpha channel). JPG does not — if you need transparent backgrounds, PNG is the right choice.
PNG files are typically 5–10× larger than JPG for photos. Only convert to PNG when you need the quality or transparency.
Converting JPG → PNG doesn't restore lost quality — JPG artefacts from the original compression remain visible.
