Cut Dead Time from a Recording

Most recordings have dead air at the start and end. Drag the handles in past the silence to keep only the substance.

Use frame-precise mode when you need the cut to land exactly on a spoken word or slide change.

For rough cuts where a second of slack is fine, fast mode is instant and keeps the original quality.

Snap a handle to the playhead: play until just before the content starts, pause, then click "Set start to playhead".
