Presentation tips
The average speaker talks at 130 WPM. A 10-minute presentation needs about 1,300 words of script — useful for timing practice runs.
TED talks average 163 WPM. For podcast-style delivery (more conversational), budget closer to 150 WPM in the speaking time estimate.
For keynotes and formal speeches, aim for 120–130 WPM to allow for pauses, emphasis, and audience interaction time.
Voiceover scripts for video ads typically run at 160–180 WPM. Use the speaking time estimate and adjust your script length to fit your video.
