UUIDs as primary keys allow records to be created across distributed systems without coordination — no auto-increment collisions between servers.
PostgreSQL has a native UUID type. Use uuid_generate_v4() server-side, or generate here and insert via parameterised query.
MongoDB uses its own ObjectID format, but also accepts UUIDs as string _id values. Generate here and use as a custom identifier.
