Entropy is measured in bits. Each additional bit doubles the guesses needed. Going from 40 to 60 bits means 1 million× more guesses — visually powerful.
The crack time assumes 10 billion guesses per second — the speed of modern GPU-based cracking. Even "complex-looking" short passwords fall in seconds.
Common password attacks don't try all combinations — they try dictionary words, common substitutions (@ for a), and known leaked passwords first.
