Instagram captions: 2,200 characters max, but the first 125 characters appear above the fold — make them count.
LinkedIn posts: 3,000 characters maximum. The first 3 lines are visible before "see more" — hook readers early.
Use the character count (no spaces) for social media. Spaces don't contribute to meaning but use up your limit.
