Decode 6-Band Resistors
Read precision resistors that also specify a temperature coefficient.

Tolerance
💡 Read bands from the end with the tolerance band (often gold or silver) on the right. 4-band resistors use two significant digits; 5- and 6-band use three for tighter precision.
6-Band tips
The 6th band is the temperature coefficient (ppm/K) — how much resistance drifts as the part heats up.
Brown (100 ppm/K) and red (50 ppm/K) are the most common 6th bands.
Temperature coefficient matters for precision analog circuits, less so for general hobby use.
