APIs tips
UUIDs make decent API key templates — 122 bits of randomness. For production secrets, combine with a hashing layer (e.g. SHA-256 + prefix).
Format: use the UUID as the stored hash basis, strip hyphens for compactness, and prefix with your service name (e.g. sk_live_550e8400...).
Generated with crypto.getRandomValues — the same cryptographic API used in browser-based key generation. Not predictable or guessable.
Generate in uppercase for readability in dashboards and support tickets. Uppercase UUID format is equally valid and often easier to read.
