Log Parsing tips

📜

Paste a sample from your log file into the test text area, then build your pattern against real data. Logs have many edge cases.

🔍

Use capture groups () to extract specific parts: IP, timestamp, status code. Each group is shown separately in the match details panel.

💡

Named groups (?<ip>\d+\.\d+\.\d+\.\d+) make your regex self-documenting and easier to use in Python's re.findall() or JavaScript's match().

Enable the "m" (multiline) flag so ^ and $ match the start and end of each log line, not just the entire input.
