Background removal usually means uploading your photo to a server somewhere. Here, the AI model runs inside your browser — your image never leaves your device.

The AI model downloads (one time)
When you open this page, a ~50 MB neural network (ONNX format) starts downloading from a CDN to your browser. It loads in the background while you pick an image. The browser caches it, so subsequent visits are instant.

You pick an image
Selecting a file just tells your browser which local file to read. The image is loaded into your browser's memory as pixel data — no upload happens.

Your CPU runs the model on your image
The model processes each pixel and predicts whether it belongs to the subject or the background. All of this happens locally using WebAssembly + WebGL — the same way your browser runs any web app.

You get a PNG with a transparent background
The result image is created in your browser's memory. Click Download and your browser saves it directly — no server round-trip.

Open your browser's network inspector while using this tool — you'll see the model download once, and then zero requests during background removal. Your image is never uploaded anywhere, even temporarily. Safe for sensitive photos: kids, medical images, document photos, anything private.
