Twitter tips
Twitter re-compresses every uploaded image. If you pre-compress to low quality first, the double compression makes your tweets look noticeably blurry. Upload at high quality.
Twitter displays in-feed images at 600 px but supports up to 4096 px. 1200 px gives 2× retina sharpness — the right balance of quality and file size.
Twitter's photo limit is 5 MB. JPEG at quality 92 keeps most 1200 px images well under 1 MB — no need to reduce quality further.
JPEG is the best format for Twitter photos. PNG is supported but produces much larger files for photographs without any visible benefit.
